Garden Ready Plants - If you’ve fallen behind with your planting or if greenhouse space is limited, we can help you catch up with our garden-ready plug plants. These sturdy plants are larger than other plugs so they can be planted straight out in the garden provided that there are no forecasts of frost. Perfect for filling containers, baskets and borders without the need for growing on.

Pot up lobelia plugs into 9cm pots and grow on for transplanting into final containers or baskets later on. Alternatively, plant plugs directly into flower pouches. Grow on in warm frost free conditions until plants are large enough to be transplanted into their final containers and bedding displays. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes. Garden Ready plug plants can be planted straight out in the garden provided that there are no forecasts of frost.

When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise Lobelia plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Choose a sunny or semi shaded site for their final position. Feed and water plants regularly, particularly during hot, dry periods.

Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on. Delivery times will be stated on the product page above, or in your order acknowledgement page and email.

Orders for packets of seed incur a delivery charge of £2.99.

Orders which include any other products will incur a delivery charge of £6.99.

Where an order includes both packets of seeds and other products, a maximum delivery charge of £7.99 will apply - regardless of the number of items ordered.

Large items may incur a higher delivery charge - this will be displayed in your shopping basket.

Van Meuwen strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting.
