Lycoris radiata (Red Spider Lily) These stunning red spider lilies are a welcome sight in late summer and early autumn when many other plants are starting to fade. Each sturdy stem is topped with a cluster of glowing red flowers with long, elegant stamens. These exotic-looking blooms are quickly followed by thin, dark green foliage. Lycoris radiata is hardy to -5°C and produces the best display at the base of a warm sunny wall, or in containers which can be moved to a greenhouse for winter protection. Height: 45cm (18"). Cyclamen neapolitanum Cyclamen hederifolium (Ivy-leaved Cyclamen) Delicate, lightly scented flowers with reflexed petals appear in autumn; often before the attractive leaves have emerged. The heart shaped foliage that follows is marbled and patterned in shades of silver and green, often with a purple underside. A delightful groundcover plant for rockeries and woodland gardens where it will self seed to create a carpet of foliage from autumn to spring, before the foliage dies back in summer. Scadoxus multiflorus (Blood Lily, Fireball Lily) This tropical beauty really has the wow factor! Amaryllis 'Charisma' Hippeastrum Sensational wide trumpet-shaped blooms make these tropical Hippeastrum plants a firm favourite for the windowsill or conservatory. Amaryllis ‘Charisma’ produces up to 3 flower stalks, often bearing several blooms per stem, each reaching up to 20cm (8") across. The white blooms are splashed and edged in rich red markings for a really stunning display.
