Allium 'Forelock'

A distinctive and spectacular variety. The burgundy blooms of Allium ‘Forelock’ with their pretty white tips form a large 20cm diameter globe which stands proudly on slender, sturdy stems. Plant them in large groups for a bold impact. Also excellent as a cut flower for an outstanding displays indoors! Height: 70cm (28") Spread: 10cm (4"). Supplied as 14/16cm bulbs.

Allium bulbs should be planted in autumn, with the pointed end facing upwards, at a depth of approximately 3 times their height. Choose a sunny position in free draining soil.
Alliums thrive in dry sunny conditions so feeding and watering should not be necessary except on the driest of soils. Alliums will not repeat flower in the same year. Their faded spherical flower heads can be removed after flowering if necessary; however they will make a wonderful architectural display in the autumn if left intact.
