Crocus Collection (Winter Flowering)

A welcome sight in spring. While most other plants are still dormant, these hardy little bulbs burst into flower with bright goblet shaped blooms. Crocus flowers make striking display when planted in drifts or naturalised in lawns! Flowering 7.5cm (3”) tall during February and March, crocus bulbs will multiply and bloom year after year. Bulb size 5/7cm.
Collection comprises 5 outstanding varieties:
Crocus ‘Gypsy Girl’ – Buttery yellow with deep maroon streaks on the outside of each petal.
Crocus ‘Advance’ – Violet buds open to reveal golden yellow goblet-shaped flowers.
Crocus ‘Prince Claus’ – Oval smudges of deep blue decorate the base of these ice white flowers.
Crocus ‘Dorothy’ – Golden yellow blooms with a delicate bronze stripe.
Crocus ‘Blue Pearl’ – Silvery-blue goblet shaped flowers with golden yellow throats.

Plant winter flowering crocus bulbs, pointed end facing upwards, from September to November at a depth of about 10cm (4?). Choose a sunny position in well drained soil or plant them in containers and window boxes. When growing crocus on heavy wet soils, add sharp sand or compost to improve drainage. For natural looking drifts of crocus, gently cast them across the planting area and plant them exactly where they land!
Feed and water container grown crocus regularly during their active growth period. Allow the strap like foliage to die back naturally after flowering. Avoid mowing areas of grass where crocus are naturalised until they have completely died back.
