Plant tubers in pots during spring, at a depth of 10cm. Grow them on in a warm, frost free position. When plants are well grown, and all risk of frost has past, transplant Polianthes into their final positions in borders or containers. Choose a sunny position in moist, free draining soil. Tubers may also be planted directly into borders.
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. With the first autumn frosts, remove tubers from their positions and store over winter in peat or sand, in a cool but frost free position. Replant tubers of Polianthes tuberosa the following spring.
We will do our best to ship your plants or bulbs to you at the ideal time for planting as stated against each product. We recommend that you prepare your soil, planting beds or patio containers ahead of time so you are ready to plant out, or pot on, just as soon as your order arrives. You will find the name of the variety printed on the top line of the address label on your package. Please ensure that you open the packaging immediately and carefully read through the instruction leaflet provided. For greatest success, please pot on or plant out as soon as possible, following the cultural instructions enclosed with your order.
  1. All I got was leaves

    By Chris Ward 06-10-2014

Bought 6 polianthes pink sapphire tuberosa, but like many of you're disgruntled customers, all we get is leaves. Having emailed customer care team about 3 times all I got was they are from Mexico & Mexico is very hot !!! So was Sapcote in Leicestershire last summer 2014, if they are not going to flower then why sell them, if you or anyone has managed to get them to flower I would be pleased to know. Either 6 flowering tubers or reimbursement should be forthcoming. Oct/6/2014

  2. Polianthes Pink Sapphire

    By PAM CONNELL 25-09-2014

Like the customer review above, I ordered the above because of the "strong perfume". Nothing, apart from a few green leaves, has appeared. I contacted the customer service who told me to be patient as these flowers were from Mexico. I have been patient all summer and still have only a few green leaves. Extremely disappointed with this plant. Would not recommend it.
