Caution: irritant to skin and eyes. Ranunculus bulbs look like claws. Plant them at a depth of 8cm (3") in spring with their claws pointing downwards. Choose a position in full sun on well drained soil. Alternatively grow Ranunculus in containers of loam based compost, such as John Innes No. 2, water well and position in a sunny site.
Feed and water throughout the growing season. Deadhead faded flowers. After flowering, allow the foliage to die back completely before removing it in late summer. Reduce watering in winter to provide Ranunculus with a dry dormant period.
