Darwin Tulips are renowned for their huge, brilliantly coloured flowers. The blooms appear as perfect pyramids up to 15cm (6") opening to reveal their exquisite beauty in late spring. Because of their superb shape and sturdy stems they are one of the best varieties for cut flowers. Plant in groups for a truly magnificent show. Height: 60cm (24"). Bulb size 10/11cm. Collection comprises 10 bulbs each of: Tulip Red Apeldoorn, Tulip Golden Apeldoorn, Tulip Apeldoorn Elite, Tulip Gudoshnik and Tulip Spring Song

Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. However,some people have had strong allergic reactions to Tulip flowers. If touching them causes a rash, numbness etc. then Tulip flowers should not be eaten. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten. Tulip bulbs should be planted in late autumn, with the pointed end facing upwards, at a depth of approximately 3 times their height. Make sure that they are planted deep enough - shallow planting may prevent the bulbs receiving the necessary winter cold period that is essential for them to produce flowers in spring. Choose a sunny position in moist, free draining soil.
After flowering, allow the foliage to die back completely before removing it in June or July.
