Pansy 'Ballerina'

Viola x wittrockiana

Hardy Perennial

 Customer Review Rating
Always a firm favourite this unusual pansy is free flowering throughout the season. Can be planted in autumn for winter and spring flowering, or in spring for a summer display. With their frilled and ruffled petals they make a stunning display in containers, beds and borders. Height and spread: 23cm (9"). Supplied as plug tray plants.

Culinary information: Some parts of these flowers are edible. The crystallised petals are great decorations for cakes and cookies, or they can be added straight to green salads for an injection of colour. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Plant pansy plugs directly into flower pouches, or pot them up for transplanting into beds, baskets, containers and window boxes later on. Grow pansies on in a cool, bright position until fully rooted into their pots. Gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days prior to planting in their final positions. For pansy plants received in the spring, only plant out once all risk of frost has passed. Grow viola plants in full sun or semi shade in moist, well drained soil.
Feed and water pansy plants frequently during the growing season. Winter pansies do not require feeding over winter and should only be watered during dry periods. Deadhead faded pansy flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced and prevent them from self seeding. Pansies are short-lived perennials, performing best in their first season, and are normally grown as annual or biennial plants.

Every plug was perfect on arrival. I have never bought such quality plugs before, they have ALWAYS been disappointing but I have never bought them from you previously.
