The hardiest Petunia we've seen! Years of breeding have produced this fabulous new petunia which tolerates temperatures down to -10°C (14°F). Performing well in our trials, Petunia 'Below Zero' can be planted out earlier in the season than usual and will continue to flower even throughout winter! The bushy well-branched plants are fabulous for summer beds and borders, or try them in containers, hanging baskets and window boxes where they'll cascade gently over the sides in a mixture of bright colours. Petunia 'Below Zero' will happily over-winter outdoors on a free-draining soil. Height: 30cm (12"). Spread: 40cm (16"). Supplied as plug plants.

Pot up petunia plug plants into 9cm pots and grow them on in warm frost free conditions for transplanting into beds, borders, containers or baskets later on. Pinch back the stems while the plants are still young to encourage them to produce bushier growth and more petunia flowers. Once well grown, gradually acclimatise petunia plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Choose a sunny site on light, free-draining soil for their final position.

Feed and water petunia plants regularly throughout the summer, particularly during hot, dry periods. Deadhead faded petunia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced and extend their vibrant display. In late autumn, wrap containers in bubble wrap or move them to a sheltered spot against a house wall to protect the roots from freezing. A free-draining soil is essential throughout the winter months. Petunia ‘Below Zero’ will flower sporadically throughout the winter during mild weather.
