Crimson and gold rosettes of deeply ruffled petals give this double Primrose variety a real ‘wow’ factor! Primrose ‘Romance’ bursts into flower just in time for Valentine’s Day and continues their well into Spring. Each colourful bloom exudes a subtle, sweet fragrance, while the dense clumps of bright green foliage make excellent ground cover at the front of borders. Trouble free and easy to grow, this hardy perennial is perfect for filling Spring beds and patio containers, or edging pathways and borders. Height and spread: 20cm (8").

Culinary information: Some parts of these flowers are edible. Try the sweet tasting petals on top of salads or even pancakes, crystallise them for use as cake decorations too. For more details about edible flowers click here.

48 Plug Plants (V56899)

Pot up plug plants and grow them on in bright, frost-free conditions, watering sparingly until they are fully rooted in. When they are well grown, acclimatise primrose plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days, prior to planting out in their final positions in beds, borders and containers. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade on any fertile, moist, well drained soil.
During the winter, avoid over-watering container grown plants as this may cause the plants to rot in cold conditions. Deadhead faded primrose flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Divide over-crowded clumps of primroses from late autumn to early spring.

Van Meuwen strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.
