Dregea sinensis is an intriguing climbing plant from the Far East that makes a spectacular alternative to jasmine and clematis. Charming panicles of starry white flowers are produced from July to September and this hardy plant also emits a pleasant fragrance. Perfect for growing up a trellis, fence or pergola. Height and spread: 3m (10’). Supplied as large plug plants.

Pot up Dregea plug plants and grow them on in warm frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. Gradually acclimatise plants for to outdoor conditions for 7-10 days before planting in well drained soil in sun or partial shade. Dregea sinensis is hardy to -7°C ( 19°F) but will appreciate a sheltered position. Grow Drega against a wall or fence and encourage young shoots to twine by tieing them to supports until they take hold.

Prune Dregea in summer after flowering to suit the space available.
