Caution: Harmful if eaten. Pot up everlasting pea plants and grow them on until large enough to plant outdoors in their final positions. Pinch out the growing tips while they are still small to encourage bushy growth. Plant perennial sweet peas in fertile, well drained soil in sun or semi shade. Prior to planting, add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil. Be sure to provide the stems with a trellis or plant climbing frame, and tie stems to their supports as they grow.
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead faded flower stems frequently to encourage more blooms to be produced throughout summer. In autumn, remove old growth when the stems yellow and die back. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant in spring.
