Osteospermum 'Oasis' produces sparkling butter yellow flowers en masse, each one delicately highlighted with a central zone of mauve, just like an oasis in the desert. This African daisy requires very little effort for worthwhile results. Osteospermums are ideal planted in patio pots, baskets or window boxes or used as ground cover for an impressive summer display. Height and spread: 40cm (16"). Supplied as plug plants.

Culinary information: The bright coloured flowers can be used as a garnish or in ice cubes to add an extra dimension to summer drinks. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Pot up Osteospermum plug plants and grow them on in warm frost-free conditions for transplanting into borders, beds and containers later on. When all risk of frost has passed, and plugs are fully rooted into their pots, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant Osteospermum in any well drained soil in full sun.

Feed and water osteospermum plants regularly. Weed between plants until they are established. Deadhead faded African Daisy flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced throughout summer. African daisies are best treated as an annual, although plants can be over-wintered in containers in a frost-free position if required.

Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on. Delivery times will be stated on the product page above, or in your order acknowledgement page and email.
