Lupin 'Russell Hybrids' Lupinus Marvellous colourful dense spires of blooms which are long flowering and will multiply from year to year to give you a swathe of glorious colour. George Russell spent decades breeding these plants, which were successfully displayed at the Royal Horticultural Society’s June show in 1937. Recently, at this years hundredth RHS Chelsea Flower Show ‘Russell Hybrids’ were voted to 2nd place in the ‘Plant of the Centenary’ showing just how popular they are. Ht. 75-90cm. Diascia 'Little Dancer Collection' (Twinspur) Diascia is highly prized for its froth of richly coloured flowers carried on slender stems. These pretty annuals flower prolifically all summer - cut them back after their first flush of flowers to promote new growth, and they will continue to bloom into autumn! Geum Collection (Avens) What a sumptuous collection of perennial Geum! Like the very best cocktails, these Geum are a mix of richness and colour. They're a plant you don't see in garden centres very often, which is a shame as they're absolutely bullet-proof and probably one of the toughest border plants you could find! Giant Fragrant Cowslip Primula florindae (Tibetan Cowslip) It's rather like an allium or a yellow agapanthus with its tall umbels of banana yellow blooms, this giant variety of cowslip makes a bright display, especially in shadier, damp areas of the garden, from July to September. With a subtle aroma of nutmeg they're a useful cut flower plant for an indoor vase. Ht. 90cm. Supplied in 5cm pots. Hosta 'Halcyon' (Plantain Lily, Hosta 'Holstein') A wonderful Hosta with thick-textured, large grey-blue leaves growing up to 20cm (8") long. This RHS AGM variety produces elegant racemes of bell-shaped, pale lavender flowers above neat mounds of foliage from mid-summer onwards. Also known as the Plantain Lily, Hosta 'Halcyon' makes a fabulous addition to borders, woodland gardens and patio containers, producing the best colour in a shady position.
