Asclepias syriaca 'Green Parrot' (Common Milkweed, Virginian Silk, Silkweed) A fantastic perennial for the garden, with spherical heads of lightly-fragrant, mauve-pink blooms in summer, which are highly attractive to bees and butterflies. The flowers are followed by fascinating, softly spiny seed pods which give rise to the name ‘Green Parrot’! Also known as ‘Virginian Silk’, in the autumn the large seed pods split open to reveal seeds adorned with masses of silky white hairs. Asclepias syriaca is a fantastic, easy-to-grow plant for borders and wildlife gardens where it gives a long season of interest. The bright blooms also make an unusual and striking cut flower. Eryngium 'Blue Steel' (Sea Holly, Eryngo) A striking perennial with a bold garden presence! Distinctive, architectural blooms rise high on sturdy stems to reveal cones of tiny flowers surrounded by an electric blue collar! A useful plant for coastal areas and hot, dry sites. Foxglove 'Illumination Pink' Digitalis An exciting new foxglove, with parentage from the little known Isoplexis (Canary Island Foxglove) giving this variety its attractive tropical colouring. The densely packed flower spikes are sterile and won't set seed, so the plants will bloom from June right through until November! A well-branched habit allows for a continuous show of flowers.
