Caution: toxic if eaten. Grow Brugmansia plants in a conservatory or greenhouse. Alternatively plant them in large patio containers that can be moved to a frost free position with a minimum temperature of 7°C during the winter months. Plant them in soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3 and water well. Position containers in full sun.
Stand containers of Angels Trumpet plants outside in a bright position from May to September. Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead faded Brugmansia flowers. Move plants indoors between October and April to a bright, frost free position away from cold draughts and radiators. Water sparingly in winter but do not let the plant dry out completely. Repot into progressively larger containers as the plant increases in size.
