Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
The bright pink summer blooms of the Chinese Foxglove make an unusual feature that shine out beautifully from the front of sunny borders. Flowering over a long period, this superb perennial will continue well into autumn above rosettes of coarsely toothed foliage. Although perfectly hardy, Rehmannia elata resents damp winter weather and is best lifted and overwintered in a protected, dry position. This interesting RHS AGM variety makes a nice addition to exotic borders and patio containers. Supplied as plug plants. Height: 90cm (35"). Spread: 50cm (20").

Caution: irritant to skin and eyes. Pot up rehmannia plants and grow them on in frost free conditions. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are fully rooted into their pots, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Transplant Chinese Foxgloves into sheltered, sunny or semi shaded borders in fertile, well drained soil. Alternatively grow Rehmannia in containers of soil-based compost such as John Innes No.2 with added grit for drainage.
Feed and water frequently throughout the summer to ensure an endless supply of flowers. Deadhead faded Chinese foxglove flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Border-grown Rehmannia are best lifted and potted up in autumn to overwinter in a cool greenhouse or conservatory at a minimum temperature of 5°C (41°F). Container-grown specimens will also need to be brought under cover. Chinese Foxgloves can be planted out again the following spring.

Van Meuwen strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.
