Renowned for their showy blooms and lush foliage, our superb range of unusual and exotic plants are excellent for lending a tropical feel to your garden. Exotic-looking plants are often thought of as tender and difficult to maintain but some are very hardy in the UK! Try growing these great-value exotic flowers in borders, conservatories, or in patio containers as feature plants.
Eccremocarpus scaber 'Chilean Sunset'(Chilean Glory Flower) This Chilean glory flower is an exotic looking climber with wonderful, fiery orange, tubular flowers that look like blown glass lamps. This quick growing climber will quickly cover a trellis or cling to a conifer hedge to add colour and interest throughout summer. In mild areas Eccremocarpus scaber 'Chilean Sunset' will die down in winter and, given a little protection, will re-appear stronger the next year. In cold areas it is best grown outdoors as an annual, or planted in containers that can be moved to a frost free position during winter months. Height: 3m (10'). Spread: 1m (3'). Abutilon 'Tricolour'Beautiful bell-shaped flowers hang from the slender branches in a trio of different colours. From May to October the dark green palmate foliage of this long lived shrub is the perfect foil for its jewel-like blooms. Abutilon 'Tricolour' is ideal for conservatories and perfect in patio containers which can be moved to a frost free position in winter.
