Mirabilis jalapa(Four o' Clock Flower, Marvel of Peru) This unusual, bushy, half hardy perennial is also known as the Marvel of Peru after its place of origin. Mirabilis flowers open during the afternoon, producing a sweet fragrance, and remain open through the night until the following morning. Amazing bright blooms of red, pink, yellow and white are often found on the same plant at one time creating a truly astonishing display. Although perennial, in most parts of the UK Mirabilis jalapa plants are best grown as an annual in borders outside.
