Pot up eustoma plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before transplanting them into their final positions. Grow lisianthus in containers and borders, in fertile, neutral to alkaline, well drained soil. Choose a sheltered position in full sun, with protection from strong winds. Avoid disturbing the roots when transplanting lisianthus as this may slow their subsequent growth.
Feed and water lisianthus plants regularly, particularly during hot, dry periods. Position twiggy sticks around the plants to support their stems.
