Phlox 'Creeping Collection'

Phlox subulata

Hardy Perennial

These adaptable evergreen phlox are just perfect for smothering weeds, creeping across rockeries, or growing in troughs. Their dainty star shaped flowers cover dense cushions of narrow green leaves in early summer. Undemanding and tolerant of dry, gritty soils, they are much tougher than their delicate appearance might suggest! Height: 15cm (6"). Supplied in 7cm pots. Collection comprises 3 each of: Blue Sapphire, Apple Blossom, Pink Sensations and Scarlet Flame.

Plant creeping phlox into borders, troughs and rockeries in any well drained soil. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade.
Once established, Phlox subulata requires little attention, and only occasional watering will be necessary during particularly dry periods. Deadheading faded flowers will encourage more blooms to be produced over a longer period. In summer, after flowering, stems can be cut back by a third to promote a flush of fresh foliage to be produced. In autumn, apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant.
We will do our best to ship your plants or bulbs to you at the ideal time for planting as stated against each product. 1. phlox creeping collection

    By Jennifer McGahey 22-12-2011

I purchased these plants at the beginnning of 2011 and unfortunately only 2 out of 12 plants are even still alive. The others just shrivelled up + died!! The remaining ones are weak + pale + look nothing like the catalogue picture, I am very disappointed. No flowers at all. Van Meuwen says: We are sorry you have been disappointed with your plants as we always aim for 100% customer satisfaction. At this late stage it is difficult to say what may have caused the problem. We would encourage customers to always contact us at the earliest opportunity if they have any concerns.
