Plant citrus trees in patio containers in a mix of ericaceous compost and neutral, soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Repot the plant at its original soil level and firm well into the new container. Water well and position in a frost free position in full sun.
Stand orange and lemon trees outside from May to October. Water freely in summer and mist leaves daily to increase humidity and discourage pests. Feed with citrus plant fertiliser every 2 weeks. Move plants indoors from October to a bright, frost free position (4-12°C) away from cold draughts and radiators. Reduce watering in winter but do not let the plant dry out completely. Too much or too little water may cause the fruits to drop.
We will do our best to ship your plants or bulbs to you at the ideal time for planting as stated against each product. We recommend that you prepare your soil, planting beds or patio containers ahead of time so you are ready to plant out, or pot on, just as soon as your order arrives. You will find the name of the variety printed on the top line of the address label on your package. Please ensure that you open the packaging immediately and carefully read through the instruction leaflet provided. For greatest success, please pot on or plant out as soon as possible, following the cultural instructions enclosed with your order.

  1. A disappointing purchase

    By S Akhtar 26-03-2017

I purchased these both Citrus trees as a present for my mother. I am very disappointed in the quality of what was sent out. Within a space of a couple of months, the leaves that grew fell off and the plants themselves have dried out and just died even though I gave them great and attention. I already have citrus trees which i had grown at home from seeds and they have turned out much better than what I paid for. A waste of my money.

  2. Orange and Lemon Trees

    By stephen robinson 13-05-2014

Reading comment above I too hope with care and attention my fruit trees double in size in a matter of weeks. One plant diameter of stem at base 2.6 mm (as measured with micrometer screw gauge) to be fair the other plant was more substantial at 5.4 mm.
