Blueberry Plants

Blueberries are so easy to grow and are delicious added to pies, muffins and pancakes! Blueberry plants make superb patio specimens, bearing white flowers in spring, followed by blue-grey fruits in summer and fiery red foliage in autumn. These compact shrubs prefer an acid soil so if your soil is neutral or alkaline grow blueberries in large patio containers filled with a mixture of ericaceous compost and soil-based compost such as John Innes No. 3. For the best crops grow blueberry bushes in pairs as this improves pollination. To get the best performance from your blueberry plants see our How to grow blueberries guide.
