How to Grow
Hollyhock
- Repot hollyhock plants into 9cm pots and grow them on in frost free conditions.
- When plants are fully rooted into their pots, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days, and transplant into sunny borders.
- Grow hollyhocks in a sheltered position away from strong winds. Plant in full sun, on fertile, well drained soil.
- Aftercare
- Feed and water regularly until plants are established.
- Support the tall hollyhock flower stems with garden canes if necessary.
- In autumn, remove old foliage and faded flower stems, and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant.
