How to Grow
Rose - Scented Doubles

Bareroot Plants
Plant bareroot roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery.
If planting is not possible it is advisable to ‘heel them in’. Dig a small trench, insert the roots of the plant and backfill with soil. Water well. This will allow the plant to survive until conditions allow it to be planted in its permanent position.
When growing roses, choose a position in fertile well drained soil in full sun.
Dig a hole of sufficient width and depth to comfortably accommodate the bareroot plant. Position the plant in the hole, aiming for the base of the stems to sit just below soil level.
Roses are hungry plants so add a small handful of granular fertiliser and mix some well rotted manure or compost to the soil removed from the planting hole.
Backfill the soil around the roots of the plant, firm in, and water well.
Aftercare
Water roses regularly until established.
Deadhead faded flowers.
In autumn apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant.
In autumn, begin pruning roses by removing dead and diseased wood, and any rubbing or damaged branches. Then reduce the remaining stems by a third.
In spring before growth begins, reduce the remaining stems by half again.
