How to Grow
Chrysanthemum - Collection
Pot up plugs and grow them on in warm frost free conditions.
When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise chrysanthemums to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days.
Transplant into containers in full sun, or in well drained soil in sunny borders.
Feed and water regularly.
Aftercare
Decorative and incurving chrysanthemum plants benefit from ‘disbudding’ to produce larger flowers. Remove all buds and side shoots except for the central bud on each main stem.
Spray chrysanthemums can be allowed to develop naturally. However pinching out the top 5cm when stems reach a height of 15cm will produce a bushier plant with more flowers. Repeat with every consecutive 15cm of growth until the plant forms flower buds.
Support flower stems with stakes to prevent them snapping.
