Choose a sunny or semi shaded position that is protected from cold winds and hard spring frosts. Magnolias prefer a moist, well drained acid to neutral soil that is high in organic matter. If you don't have acid soil, incorporate plenty of ericaceous compost into your border prior to planting. Plant bareroot Magnolias at the same depth as they were previously planted. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil. If your magnolia arrives with shoots coming out below the grafts, then prune off shoots below the graft to enable the magnolia to flourish.
Water regularly throughout the growing season until young Magnolia plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant. Magnolias require little pruning other than to maintain their shape and remove damaged stems.

Twigs in a pot - 12 months on

I ordered two of these last April and emailed my disappointment at receiving two twigs that did nothing and told to wait a year as they are dormant. Been a year and still two twigs in a pot!!

Delay in delivery and although delivered plant is doing well it is NOT the variety I ordered !
Subsequent e-mails to complain have been receipt acknowledged but no further communication.
Will not use this company again, customer service is appalling !
Interesting to see the 5 star guarantee....shall await my refund...not holding my breath
