These low maintenance perennials produce tall plumes of flowers above clumps of arching foliage from late summer. The blooms are long lasting, with seed heads that remain intact well into winter and look fabulous when added to cut flower arrangements. Height: 150cm (59"). Spread: 100cm (39"). Feathery panicles float above a dense clump of linear, evergreen leaves to form a cloud of ornamental seedheads. An undemanding grass that looks particularly effective in mixed borders. Miscanthus 'Purpurascens'

(Miscanthus sinensis var. purpurascens, Maiden Grass, Eulalia)

This flamboyant grass makes a superb focal point for summer borders. The tall stems topped with feathery plumes of rich copper red look magnificent above clumps of narrow, green, arching foliage. The stately flower spikes of Miscanthus ‘Purpurascens’ are most numerous following a long hot summer. This hardy perennial is easy to grow and needs very little maintenance. The attractive seed heads also make fantastic additions to cut flower arrangements or can be left intact to provide winter interest in the garden. Height: 150cm (59"). Spread: 100cm (39").
