Philadelphus 'Virginal'

(Mock Orange)

With its fabulous orange blossom fragrance and exquisite double white flowers, Philadelphus 'Virginal' is well worth a place in your garden. The heavily scented, nectar rich blooms fragrance the air from late spring to early summer, attracting bees and other pollinating insects. This hardy, deciduous shrub has a vigorous, upright habit that forms an attractive large shrub. Mock Orange plants are ideal for wildlife and woodland gardens, and even cope well in challenging coastal areas. Height: 3m (10'). Spread: 2.5m (8'). Bareroot plant supplied.

Acca sellowiana

(Pineapple Guava, Feijoa)

An exotic, evergreen shrub hailing from South America; Pineapple Guava produces pretty red and white flowers with striking red stamens, followed by edible green fruits in long hot summers or under glass. This shrub is extremely drought and salt tolerant, making it ideal for coastal gardens and dry soils. Grow Acca sellowiana in sheltered, sunny borders or in patio containers which can be brought undercover over winter. Height: 2m (6'). Spread: 2.5m (8').

Berberis x lologensis 'Apricot Queen'

(Barberry)

A delightful strong-growing shrub becoming smothered in bright orange blooms in late spring, and flowering sporadically throughout the summer. Spiny evergreen leaves adorn the elegant arching shoots, making Berberis 'Apricot Queen' a particularly valuable shrub in the winter garden. The flowers, which are an excellent source of nectar for bees, are followed by subtle purple berries in the autumn. This low maintenance shrub has an RHS AGM and makes a fantastic specimen plant, or grow it as part of a mixed border. Height and spread: 2.5m (8'). Supplied as bare root. More info
