Evergreen fern-like foliage makes an attractive foil for clusters of bright yellow, fluffy ball shaped mimosa flowers. Its fragrant, nectar rich blooms are a big attraction for bees and other insects in spring. This half hardy evergreen makes an ideal specimen plant for containers, or sheltered sunny borders. An excellent focal point for a large conservatory. Height if unrestricted: 15m (49') Spread if unrestricted: 6m (19'). Supplied in 9cm pots or as 40mm plug plants.

Paulownia tomentosa

(Paulownia imperialis, Empress Tree, Foxglove tree)

Native to China, this unusual deciduous tree is sure to be a talking point in your garden! Beautiful fragrant, lilac-mauve flowers, which resemble foxgloves, are borne in late spring just before the tree bursts into leaf. The large bright green, slightly hairy leaves are produced on stout upright stems making the foxglove tree a fantastic architectural feature in the garden. This fast-growing tree can be cut back hard annually to produce a tall shrub adorned with lush, tropical-looking leaves to 30cm in diameter!
