Cornus kousa(Kousa Dogwood, Szechuan Strawberry) This magnificent flowering dogwood makes a sensational specimen tree with plenty of interest throughout the growing season. In early summer, the small green flowers emerge, surrounded by dazzling, starry white flowers bracts in a breathtaking display. As autumn approaches the flowers are replaced by fascinating strawberry–like fruits on mature trees. Although edible, the fruits of Cornus kousa look better than they taste, so they are best left on the branches.
