Beautiful, deep blue blooms form rounded flower heads that stand proud on tall stalks each summer. The blooms of Agapanthus ‘Blue Ribbon’ are distinctive for the stripe of violet-blue along the midrib of each petal. This outstanding African Lily provides an elegant and graceful presence in the garden, associating beautifully with other late summer flowering perennials. Perfect for borders and patio containers. They make superb cut flowers, but try to leave some standing as these will attract pollinating insects to the garden. Height: 60cm (24”). Spread: 50cm (20”).

Flowering Months
Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blacken the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container grown plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become over crowded.
Plant in rich fertile, well drained soil, which is in a position of full sun. To grow Agapanthus plants in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3 .
