A well known variety of Bugle with shiny, bronze foliage that forms a dense mat of evergreen ground cover. The attractive leaves of Ajuga reptans 'Braunherz' are the perfect complement to the deep blue, spring flower spikes. This versatile hardy perennial is ideal for those shady spots in the garden, tolerating even the poorest soils provided that there is sufficient moisture. Height: 15cm (6"). Spread: 60cm (24"). Supplied as plug plants.

Pot up Bugle plug plants into 9cm pots and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When Ajuga plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Transplant outdoors in any well drained, but reliably moist soil, in dappled or semi shade. Ajuga tolerates even the poorest soils provided that there is adequate moisture.

Water regularly until Ajuga plants are fully established. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of Bugle in Spring to maintain plant vigour.

Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on. Delivery times will be stated on the product page above, or in your order acknowledgement page and email.

Orders for packets of seed incur a delivery charge of £2.99.

Orders which include any other products will incur a delivery charge of £6.99.
