Allium are always popular with gardeners for their showy blooms and architectural structure. We’ve brought together 4 less commonly seen species in one superb collection. Flowering from early summer, they will bridge the gap between spring bedding and summer perennials bringing a bright splash of colour to the garden. The Alliums in this collection are particularly well suited to rockeries and gravel gardens. Plant then in bold groups for maximum impact.

Allium Collection comprises:

  • Allium sphaerocephalon - Unusual oval shaped, purple-green flower heads. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 8cm (3").
  • Allium moly - Starry golden blooms make the perfect link between spring and summer. Height: 15cm (6"). Spread: 5cm (2").
  • Allium neapolitanum - Loose heads of starry white blooms. Height: 40cm (16"). Spread: 10cm (4")
  • Allium ostrowskianum - Delicate pink, bell-shaped blooms in early summer. Height: 20cm (8"). Spread: 5cm (2").

Alliums thrive in dry sunny conditions so feeding and watering should not be necessary except on the driest of soils. Alliums will not repeat flower in the same year. Their faded spherical flower heads can be removed after flowering if necessary; however they will make a wonderful architectural display in the autumn if left intact.
Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten. Allium bulbs should be planted in autumn, with the pointed end facing upwards, at a depth of approximately 3 times their height. Choose a sunny position in free draining soil.
