The Summer Paradise Series has a brand new colour! Alstroemeria ‘Summer Saint’ sends up a profusion of stems throughout the summer months, topped with flamboyant mauve–pink blooms. This super-hardy Peruvian Lily is so free-flowering that it will keep blooming for up to 5 months! Perfect for bringing a tropical feel to borders and containers, and adding an exotic flavour to summer bouquets. This glamorous perennial will form an attractive clump of glossy foliage, getting bigger and better each year. Height: 70cm (27"). Spread: 50cm (19").

Pot up Alstroemeria plants and grow them on in frost free conditions. When Alstroemeria plugs are fully rooted into their pots and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant Peruvian Lilies outdoors in a sunny or semi shaded position in moist, well drained soil. Alternatively, grow Alstroemeria in containers using soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.

Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. When picking alstroemeria pluck the flowers rather than cutting as plucking stimulates the rhizome encourage further growth. In autumn, remove old foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant. Lift and divide clumps of Peruvian Lily in autumn every third year to maintain their vigour.
