An eye-catching blend of Anemones with magnificent double flowers in vibrant shades of red, white and blue. Flowering from April to May above low-growing mounds of finely cut foliage, Anemone coronaria 'Union Jack Blend' makes a fantastic partner for late spring bulbs and perennials. These easy-to-grow windflowers are perfect for containers or the front of sunny borders, and they make pretty cut flowers too. Height: 30cm (12"). Spread: 20cm (8"). Supplied as tubers.

  • Mixture includes:
  • Anemone coronaria 'The Governor' - Semi-double, brilliant red flowers with a central white ring, which highlights the black centres.
  • Anemone coronaria 'Mount Everest' - Layer upon layer of snow-white, narrow petals result in delicate semi-double flowers with green centres.
  • Anemone coronaria 'Lord Lieutenant' - Striking blue-purple, semi-double flowers with purple-black centres.

Grow Anemone coronaria in well drained, sandy soil in full sun. Plant bulbs at a depth of 5 - 8cm below ground level. Water well to settle the soil.
Anemone coronaria requires a dry dormant period in summer. Reduce watering when the foliage begins to die back after flowering in early summer. During their summer dormancy it may not be obvious where the bulbs are planted – take care not to disturb them when tending to other later flowering perennials. In autumn apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost. Alternatively, the bulbs can be lifted, dried and stored in a frost free position over winter, for replanting the following year.
