Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
A beautiful display of gently fragrant, single white blooms that will carpet the ground beneath deciduous trees and shrubs. The simple flowers of Wood Anemone rise above spreading clumps of divided green leaves creating a sensational contrast. Plant them alongside English Bluebells for a natural woodland feel. Anemone nemorosa is ideal for creating spring ground cover in woodland areas or simply underplanting trees in those challenging shaded spots.

Despite their size on supply, these small dormant rhizomes each carry the stored energy to turn into perfect garden starter plants for setting out in spring or summer.

Prior to planting, anemone bulbs should be soaked in water overnight. Choose a position in full sun on light sandy, well drained soil, and plant them in groups at a depth of 5cm (2") deep.
Anemone bulbs require a dry, dormant period in summer when the foliage begins to die back after flowering in early summer. Do not water them during this period. In autumn, apply a dry mulch of leaf mould or chipped bark to protect the bulbs from winter wet. Caution: The sap of Anemone coronaria is an irritant to the skin and eyes and harmful if eaten.
