Pot up Antirrhinum plugs and grow them on in warm, frost-free conditions for transplanting into beds, borders and containers later on. Pinch out the growing tips while snapdragon plants are still small to encourage bushier growth. Once they are well grown, acclimatise snapdragons to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days before planting outdoors in fertile, well drained soil in a sunny location. When transplanting antirrhinum plants into large containers, water sparingly until plugs are fully rooted in.
Feed and water snapdragon plants frequently throughout the summer to ensure an endless supply of flowers. Deadhead faded antirrhinum flowers before the seedpods are produced to encourage further blooming.
