Unlike many other Aster varieties, which become lax and difficult to manage as they grow, the Aster Alpha series stands apart with a naturally dwarf, dense, mounding habit that doesn’t require pinching out. Plants remain compact throughout the season, forming pleasing globes covered in multi-petalled, daisy-like flowers and resembling pot chrysanthemums. One of the earliest Asters to flower, the rich hues of Aster ‘Alpha Collection’ inject fresh colour into late summer and autumn borders that are beginning to flag. Their neat size and habit also make them perfect for containers. Aster ‘Alpha Collection’ associates beautifully with other late-season plants such as sedum, crocosmia and salvias. The flowers are highly attractive to beneficial pollinators. Height and spread: 25cm (10in).

Plant Michaelmas Daisy plants into fertile, moist, well drained soil, and situate them in full sun or semi shade. Add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting.

Feed and water frequently throughout the summer to ensure an endless supply of flowers. Deadhead faded aster flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced.

Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on.
