Pot up plugs into 9cm pots in and grow on in a shaded situation until large enough to plant in their final positions. Water regularly and feed every two weeks. When ferns are well grown, plant out in borders or containers. Choose a position in dappled shade in moist, acid or neutral, fertile soil. They prefer a soil rich in organic matter so add some well rotted manure or compost to the soil.
Feed and water plants regularly until they are fully established. Apply mulch of well rotted manure around the crown of each plant in autumn or spring.
