Description How to Grow Delivery

If you enjoy herbs and fragrant plants, this exotic herb, from Central and South America, is something unusual to try. Used since the Aztec Civilisation as a natural, sugary flavouring, Aztec Sweet Herb can be used to sweeten tea, fruit salads or cold desserts without the calories of sugar! Its green leaves, sometimes purplish, have a sweet, minty scent and contain compounds called hernandulcin which give them their intense, sugary taste. The roots have a liquorice flavour. It also produces small white flowers in the summer.

Trailing and ground covering, it can be grown in a border or container. It looks especially good in a hanging basket where its long tendrils can dangle for easy picking. Height: 30cm (12”). Spread: 30cm (12”).

3 Super Plugs (KC8034)

Pot up plug plants and grow them on in warm, frost free conditions until plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days before planting out. This half-hardy plant needs a sheltered, sunny spot. In colder, northerly gardens it is best over-wintered indoors.
