Give your garden the ‘Wow factor’ with Begonia ‘Flamenco’! Black leaves with beguiling red undersides make the scarlet and yellow blooms really stand out. Despite its exotic appearance, Begonia ‘Flamenco’ flowers all summer and well into autumn, dropping each bloom to the floor as it fades - so there’s no need for fiddly deadheading! Planted in containers and hanging baskets, this extraordinary variety will light up even the shadiest spots on the patio. Height and spread: 25cm (10").

Flowering Months
Feed and water plants frequently throughout the growing season taking care not to over-water, as this will cause new flower buds to drop. Deadhead the single female flowers to encourage more of the large double male flowers to be produced. At the end of the growing season the leaves and stems will yellow and fall off naturally. Reduce watering to prevent begonia plants from rotting at this stage. When the stems have all dropped away, dig out the tubers. Clean and dry them before storing them away in peat or sand at 7-15C (45-60F) until they can be replanted next February.
Pot up Begonia plug plants into 9cm pots and grow them on in bright, frost-free conditions, away from direct sun. They can be transplanted into their final containers once they have increased in size. When all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise begonia plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before planting them in their final positions in containers, beds and borders. Choose a sunny or semi shaded position that is protected from strong winds.
