Sowing Months Harvest Months

1 packet (200 cabbage seeds) (TKA54030)

  • Sow outdoors from March to July, at 4 week intervals. Prepare seed bed by raking to a fine tilth and add plenty of compost or manure, sow 1cm (1/2in) deep, in drills 23cm (9in) apart.
  • Transplant seedlings when they are large enough to handle, about 5 weeks after sowing, to 30cm (12in) apart each way.
  • Water regularly, especially in dry periods. Hoe between plants as required.
  • Can also be sown indoors in February for planting out April/May. Sow seed 6mm (1/4in) deep in free-draining compost in tray or modules. Cover with a fine sprinkling of vermiculite.
