Sow outdoors March/May where they are to flower. Prepare the ground by raking to a fine tilth before sowing.
Sow 1.5mm (1/16in) deep, in rows 30cm (12in) apart.
When large enough to handle, thin out seedlings to 15cm (6in) apart.

For spring/summer flowering pot plants

Sow in a cool greenhouse or conservatory during September/October.
Overwinter in full light and water sparingly. Transfer to borders or containers and bring outdoors May/June.
