A vigorous alpine with a mat-forming or trailing habit that forms carpets of semi-evergreen rounded to ovate foliage. From summer to autumn, Campanula poscharskyana 'Hirsch Blue' is studded with upward-facing, starry, violet-blue flowers over a long period. Vigorous and free flowering, Campanula poscharskyana 'Hirsch Blue' requires little maintenance once established. At its best when trailing from stone walls and steps, creeping through rockeries or filling the gaps between paving stones. Height: 30cm (12in). Spread: 60cm (24").

Grow Campanula in moist, but well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Try to avoid soil that sits wet over the winter months.

Water regularly until Campanula plants are fully established. After flowering, cut back the plants to remove faded Campanula flowers and promote a second flush of blooms. Divide overcrowded clumps in spring or autumn to maintain vigour.
