Description How to Grow Delivery
Cauliflower 'All The Year Round' is so named because, unlike most varieties of Cauliflower, it can be sown and harvested in succession in the Spring, Summer and Autumn. The hardy biennial produces a fantastic crop of dwarf vegetables, which have tight, white heads surrounded by green leaves. Brassica oleracea should be planted in vegetable gardens alongside mint, which deters flea beetles. If cabbage white butterflies prove to be a problem, try adding Nasturtiums to the bed to drive them away. Height: 60cm (2'). Spread: 75cm (2'6").

Sowing Months Harvest Months
  • Sow outdoors from February to May, at 4 week intervals. Sow thinly in a prepared seedbed, 13mm (1/2in) allowing 30cm (12in) between rows.
  • Alternatively sow in October in individual pots or a seed tray of good seed compost and cover with 6mm (1/4in) or compost or vermiculite, and keep at 15°C (59F) until germination which takes around 7 days.
  • Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, into larger pots, or from the seed bed, around 5 weeks from sowing to 25cm (10in) apart for ‘baby heads’, or 60cm (24in) apart for larger heads. Plant in firmly.
  • Cauliflowers are a good source of Vitamin C.
