Cissus discolor

Possibly the most beautiful trailing/climbing houseplant you can find! We are offering mature plants which already have a generous length of foliage and can boast instantly stunning looks.

The elongated, heart-shaped leaves look like a begonia, hence its common name – Rex begonia vine – but this vining plant from South East Asia is actually related to grape vines.  The elegant leaves have beautiful deep green and silver patterning and are held with poise on very slender, wine-red stems, showing off their burgundy undersides to advantage. Cissus discolor is equipped with twining tendrils so it can be grown as a climber up a pole, but our plants look especially elegant trailing down from their hanging pots in a beautiful cascade of colourful foliage.
Please note: The leaves and stems produce a natural secretion, tiny opaque dots, called cystolyths. These little crystals are sometimes thought to be pests, but are not harmful.
