Almost a full year of colour from three stunning varieties! The Clematis Trinity Collection is the perfect way to brighten up your patio or a favourite seating area. Clematis ‘Freckles’ is the first to bloom, from as early as December, and continuing all winter long. Spring sees free-flowering C. ‘Mayleen’ erupt into bloom, before C. 'Sieboldiana' takes the limelight, lasting all summer long.

These showy climbers make an eye-catching feature. Train them onto walls and trellis or let them twine over pergolas or archways.

Clematis Trinity Collection comprises:

  • Clematis montana ‘Mayleen' – One of the best scented montana cultivars, with delightful satin-pink ruffled blooms and attractive bronze foliage. Height: 10m (33'). Spread: 3m (10'). Pruning group: 1
  • Clematis cirrhosa var. purpurascens ‘Freckles’ - This eye-catching evergreen clematis gives a much needed injection of colour to the winter garden, when few other plants dare to bloom. Height: 3m (10’). Spread: 1.5m (5’). Pruning group: 1
  • Clematis florida 'Sieboldiana' (syn ‘Sieboldii’) - Sought after for its showy blooms of crisp, white petals. When the flowers fade, the fluffy seed heads continue into late summer and autumn. Height: 2.5m (8’). Spread: 1m (3’) Pruning group: 3

Pot up clematis plants and grow them on until large enough to plant in their final positions. When planting clematis, choose a position in sun or semi-shade and plant the climber deeply in moist, fertile, well drained soil. Position the top of the rootball at a depth of 7.5cm (3") below soil level, to encourage new shoots to form from the base of the plant. Clematis dislike soils that are particularly wet or dry. Such soils can be improved by the addition of plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost. When growing clematis in patio containers use a soil based compost such as John Innes No.3. Train clematis plants onto a suitable support such as trellis, wires or a freestanding climbing frame.
Feed and water frequently throughout the growing season. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant in order to protect the roots and conserve soil moisture. Please refer to individual varieties for specific pruning instructions.

Van Meuwen strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.
