Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

‘Linda’s Baby’ Collection is a tropical mixture of salmon pinks and tangerine which captures a mellow vibe, suggesting a sultry summer rather than brazen heat.

Contrasting flower shapes and sizes have been cleverly juxtaposed to create interest and balance. Included are neat pompom blooms alongside more relaxed decorative types, the flowers measuring from 9-17cm in diameter.

The collection contains carefully selected varieties designed to produce the perfect composition. Each of our dahlia collections is a work of art, comprising a harmonious selection of colours and tones which is guaranteed to produce magnificent results for garden borders and indoor arrangements.

They make amazing cut flowers, with long, strong stems and an impressive vase life. They perform equally well in the garden, striking a pose at the back of borders in a symphony of colour which lasts until the first frosts. Height: 80-100cm  Spread: 60cm (24in).

5 Tubers In Gift Box (KF2043)

Plant Dahlia tubers outdoors in April after all risk of frost has passed. Choose a sunny position in moist well drained soil. Prepare the soil by digging in plenty of well rotted manure or compost. Plant tubers at a depth of 15cm (6") and water well. Alternatively, start tubers into growth in pots of compost in a frost free greenhouse. Transplant them into their final positions outdoors in June.
Feed and water dahlias regularly throughout the growing season. While plants are still young, pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage bushier growth and masses of flowers. As dahlias develop, the taller varieties will require staking with garden canes to support their stems. Deadhead faded dahlia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. With the first autumn frosts, remove tubers from their growing positions and trim away the old stems to 5cm above the tuber. Clean any remaining soil from the tubers and store them over winter in trays of peat or sand, in a cool but frost free position. The tubers can be planted the following spring for another fabulous display.
