Description How to Grow More Info Delivery Reviews
Plant this very pretty and highly fragrant shrub in a winter border next to a path or in a large container on the patio near the back door where you'll be able to enjoy its lovely perfume. Delicate clusters of rich pink, sweetly-scented little buds open in January and February and are followed by rounded, purple-black berries which prolong the interest of this popular evergreen shrub and provide a valuable food source for garden birds. Thriving in a sunny, sheltered position, Daphne 'Jacqueline Postill' is slow-growing, but well worth the wait when you see how fabulous this lovely shrub looks, brightening up the garden at a time of year when other plants are dormant or without colour. Height: 250cm (98in). Spread: 1.5m (59in). Supplied in 13cm pots.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Flowering Months
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season while young plants become established. Once established, Daphne bushes require only occasional attention. Pruning Daphne is best kept to a minimum, removing only occasional damaged stems and lightly trimming those that spoil the shape of the plant in summer after flowering.
Caution: Irritant to skin and eyes. Toxic if eaten. Grow Daphne shrubs in moist, fertile, well drained soil that is rich in organic matter. Choose a position in sun or semi shade. When growing in containers use a soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Daphne plants resent root disturbance so try to avoid this when transplanting as this may delay plant establishment.
